Yesterday while teaching Main Idea, I came up with a stoplight idea to teach the difference between retell, summary, and main idea. I drew a quick one on the board and made a mental note to make a more permanent copy at home. Last night I did, and I created the anchor chart today. It's precious! Another thing I've been working on is a problem solving operation tree to help students pick which mathematical operation to use when reading a story problem.
