States of Matter, 3-Digit Addition, Proving Facts, Annotating...

That's what we've been learning this week in 102D! We have been VERY busy!

In Science we've started our unit on Matter. I used this anchor chart to introduce the concept. I did NOT create it, and unfortunately I cannot find the original source, though I think it was from TPT.

After that, we made this fun matter foldable that one of my team-mates found.

Then we moved around the classroom acting as particles in solids, liquids, and gases. Very fun!

In Math we've been working on addition - more specifically 3 digit addition with regrouping. I made this anchor chart to reinforce the concept and my students journaled their own examples to go with it.

The next day we practiced with dry erase markers on our desks (always a fun activity)! Then today we played Scoot (which I also did not make, but click here to find it).

In Reading we learned to annotate while reading (click here to download the anchor chart freebie)!

Here is one of my student's annotation practice!

We also worked on similes in poetry. This page is from a 30-lesson packet that I bought on TPT. It is absolutely amazing and I highly recommend. It has pretty much taken care of a large part of our poetry lessons for the entire year! Click here to visit the site.

Lastly, we worked on proving facts in text. I modeled by using one of our Pearson read-alouds and highlighting and filling this out on the StarBoard. Then my students completed this page that I created to go with an on-level leveled reader.

We've also had book fair preview, an anti-bullying program, computer lab, lots of stations, etc. It has been a jam-packed week, but a fun one!
